Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures for the further development of domestic and pilgrimage tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan"dated February 9, 2021 has gained importance in strengthening the legal framework of employment of representatives of the tourism sector. The list of types of activities (works, services) for self-employed persons with this decree also includes services of guides (guide-translator), road leader and guide-path initiators.  

A festive event dedicated to February 21 - World Guides Day was held at the Moscow Marriott Hotel. The event, which brought together the most active guides and tour guides of Uzbekistan, was opened by Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State committee for tourism development Aziz Abdukhakimov.  

The working group headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhakimov got acquainted with the work of hotels under construction in Khiva.  

Yesterday the Kazakh delegation visited the Navoi region to get acquainted with its tourism potential.

During a working trip to Madrid, the Uzbek delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State committee for tourism development Aziz Abdukhakimov met with the leadership of the football club Atletico Madrid and held talks on cooperation.  

The delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited Uzbekistan. During the visit, the members of the delegation examined the objects of cultural heritage of Navoi and Tashkent regions and got acquainted with the history of cultural and educational centers of the regions.  

The Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili praised the initiative of Uzbekistan to start tourism from childhood, noting that this initiative will be introduced as a separate subject in schools around the world and will create a textbook in the field. Pololikashvili made the announcement during 113th of Executive Council session of UNWTO attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhakimov.  

Foreign adviser to the chairman of the State committee for tourism development Sodik Badak (Turkey) visited the Syrdarya region and Tashkent, where he met with business representatives in the tourism sector.  

Together with the State Committee for Tourism Development and the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications, the conference “Tourism. The path to innovation” aimed at supporting perspective start-up projects and innovative business ideas in the field of tourism.
