A memorandum on the development of pilgrim tourism was signed between Navoi region and Kazakhstan

Yesterday the Kazakh delegation visited the Navoi region to get acquainted with its tourism potential.

During the excursion, the guests visited the Chashma complex in the Nurata district and the Aytekiy biy shrine, one of the great rulers of the Small Zhuz and the revered ancestors of the Kazakh people, the Konimekh eco-park in the eponymous district, Mavlono Arif Deggoroniy, Kasym-Sheikh, Mirsaid in the Karmaninsky district and other historical sites. As a result of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the administration of the Navoi region and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan, aimed at strengthening cooperation with the main ministries and associations in the field of tourism in Kazakhstan, as well as for the further development of pilgrim tourism in the Navoi region.

Within the framework of the event, bilateral agreements on cooperation were reached between large travel companies operating in the Navoi region and Kazakhstan, as well as memorandums were signed between business entities. The purpose of the agreements is to highlight and promote the tourism potential of the Navoi region in the Kazakh media, increase the flow of tourists to the region, establish bilateral cooperation on a regular basis and create the necessary conditions for attracting tourists.

In addition, it is planned to hold a joint event at the highest level and organize an international youth forum in Navoi, which will unite the active youth of the Navoi region and Kazakhstan. Also, the agreements imply the filming of a documentary film about the historical sights of the region and the Aytekiy biy shrine with the participation of Kazakh filmmakers. It was also noted at the meeting that a multi-ethnic population lives in the Navoi region, and the majority of the inhabitants of the Tamdyn, Kanimekh and Uchkuduk regions are Kazakhs and Karakalpaks.

At the end of the event, the head of the international cooperation department of the tourism department of the Ministry of culture and sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the ambassador to Kazakhstan for the Uzbekiston tourism brand by the khokim of the Navoi region was awarded the title of honorary ambassador of tourism in Kazakhstan.
