Presentations of participants of the competition “Tourism. The path to innovation” was held

Together with the State Committee for Tourism Development and the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications, the conference “Tourism. The path to innovation” aimed at supporting perspective start-up projects and innovative business ideas in the field of tourism. 

Within the framework of the competition “The path to innovation” was held the presentation of the selected projects. In particular, such large-scale work is being carried out in order to ensure the implementation of the Decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev No. 6002 “On urgent measures to support the tourism sector to reduce the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic” dated May 28, 2020. The responsible members of the commission reviewed the presentations of the projects of 18 selected participants of the competition and addressed various questions to the project participants about their launch and benefits.

The Commission informed that following the results of the presentation, the winners will be determined in the near future and partial subsidies for projects totaling 1.5 billion soums will be provided.  It should be noted that in accordance with the Regulations on holding this competition, from October 15 to November 15, 2020, 217 applications were received from the initiators of the start-up project. Also in the period from 15 November to 15 December 2020, the Commission on carrying out of competition were selected documents 101 of the bidder with the requirements of the competition and project in the field of tourism.
