Uzbekistan attracts thousands of tourists annually, but these figures do not fully disclose the tourism potential of the country. Therefore, decisive reforms are being carried out in the country for accelerated development of this sphere.

The international forum dedicated to tourism opportunities and folk crafts of Tajikistan was held on June 30 – July 1, 2018 in the city of Isfara. 

Representatives of Changsha High-Tech Industrial Development Zone visited the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development. Chairman of the Committee B.Umarov briefly informed the guests about activities of the Committee and the ongoing reforms in the country, as well as the tourism potential of Uzbekistan. According to Forbes China, the city is included in the top 15 cities in China and was able to grow from a city with incomes below the average to highly profitable in 10 years.

The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Malaysia organized a round table on “New prospects of expansion of Uzbekistan – Malaysia cooperation in tourism industry”. The event was attended by the heads of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) and the leading travel agencies of the country. 

According to the Press Service of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on June 26, a meeting of Uzbekistan Airways managers and the State Committee for Tourism Development was held at the Directorate of Uzbekistan Airways. 

Delegation of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with Uzbekistan Airways and representatives of private travel companies participated in KOFTA 2018 international exhibition on June 14-17, in Seoul. 

Following the summit in China, it became clear that the SCO member states are aimed at creating a common tourism space, coordinating efforts for mutual enhancement of tourist flows and improving the quality of services.

Representatives of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development held a meeting with tour operators from China, which jointly with the travel company Diplomatic VIP and Travel Service intend to organize charter and direct flights from Chongqing, Lu’an, Xi’an cities in late August this year.
