In June 2018, for the first time in the past period of 2018, the general level of prices for goods and services in the consumer market declined, while deflation in the consumer sector for the month was 0.4%.

On June 26 and 27, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov met with representatives of jewelry companies AVID (Korea) and Olef Creations Inc. (USA), where further plans for cooperation in jewelry production were discussed. 

On June 27, a meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund mission on tax administration issues, led by Peter Barrand, a deputy head in the IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department, was held at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

On June 28, 2018, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Athens and Ellrosa Key Business Solutions organized Uzbekistan – Greece business forum and cooperation exchange with participation of entrepreneurs of the two countries. 

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov met with the Managing Director for Central Asia and Russia at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Natalia Khanjenkova. 

On June 25, 2018, the Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Budget and Economic Reforms organized a scientific-practical conference on “The impact of liberalization of monetary policy on the economy of Uzbekistan and the way of life of the population: success and problems”, at the Banking and Finance Academy. 

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov met with the delegation of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) led by Georgi Petrov, IFC Public-Private Partnerships Business Line Leader in Europe and Central Asia. 

The first round of dialogue between representatives of government agencies and the private sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan was held at the center for training Afghan citizens under the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in Surkhandarya region.
