On January 15, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with Jumahon Giyosov, who from January 1, in accordance with the Decision of the Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, took office as the Director of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure in the city of Tashkent.

The First meeting of “India - Central Asia” Dialogue with participation of Afghanistan at the Ministerial level took place on 13 January 2019 in Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan. Foreign Ministers of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Republic of India, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan participated in the meeting.

The first meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of “India – Central Asia” Dialogue with participation of Afghanistan took place in Samarkand on January 12-13, 2019.

On January 12, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin, who arrived in Samarkand city to attend the first Ministerial Meeting of “India – Central Asia” Dialogue with participation of Afghanistan.

On January 12, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the External Affairs Minister of the Republic of India Sushma Swaraj in Samarkand, who is in Uzbekistan on a working visit. 

On January 12, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the first Ministerial Meeting of India – Central Asia Dialogue, in Samarkand.

On January 12, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Beibut Atamkulov, within the framework of the first Ministerial Meeting of India – Central Asia Dialogue with participation of Afghanistan, in the city of Samarkand.

On January 12, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Salahuddin Rabbani in Samarkand, who arrived in Uzbekistan as the head of a representative delegation to attend the first Ministerial Meeting of India – Central Asia Dialogue.

The candidature proposed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was supported by deputies of Samarkand regional Kengash (Council) of people’s deputies. Erkinjon Turdimov was appointed khokim of Samarkand region.

On January 11, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held negotiations with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov.
