On January 15, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with Jumahon Giyosov, who from January 1, in accordance with the Decision of the Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, took office as the Director of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure in the city of Tashkent.
The Minister congratulated the representative of the Republic of Tajikistan Jumahon Giyosov on taking office for a three-year term and emphasized that Uzbekistan attaches great importance to activities of the RATS, which is the main body of the SCO on ensuring interaction among member states in the fight against terrorism, extremism and separatism.
It was noted that in a relatively short time by historical standards, a lot of work had been done by joint efforts on the institutional development and improvement of activities of the RATS, which was formed as a capable structure that fully implements its tasks.
The sides exchanged views on the upcoming events within the framework of the RATS SCO in 2019 and for the future.
