On January 15, 2019, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany hosted a meeting of the Acting Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the President of the Alliance of Independent Travel Traders Jochen Szech, which includes more than 500 organizations, including 200 tour operators, 200 travel agents and 100 organizations, including the mass media, hotel business, air carriers.

Acting Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan met with managers of German Travel Association within the framework of the business forum on January 14.

The National Press Center hosted a press conference devoted to summarizing activities of the Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Foreign Affairs, International Economic Relations, Investments and Tourism in 2018 and priority areas for the current year.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted this at the selector meeting devoted to issues of implementation of investment projects, held on January 8.

On February 21-23, Uzbekistan will host the first International Forum on ziyorat-tourism (pilgrimage tourism). The organizers of the forum are the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development, khokimiyats of Bukhara and Samarkand regions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Committee on Religious Affairs with the assistance of diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan abroad.

Additional visa-free regime is established for 45 countries for 30 days from the date of entry into the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of February 1, 2019.
