On January 3, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Vladimir Norov, who took office on January 1 this year.

On December 4, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received Yevgeniy Sysoyev, who is completing his three-year mission as Executive Committee Director of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure.

On November 9-11, Dongfang hosted the First Youth Assembly of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization under the motto “SCO Youth against Terrorism and Extremism”.

On October 31, the sixth international conference on “Combating terrorism – cooperation without boundaries” was held in Tashkent by the Executive Committee of Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

On October 8-10, 2018, Dushanbe hosted the regular meeting of the Council of National Coordinators of the SCO member states.

The Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan Ruslanbek Davletov attended the Sixth Meeting of Ministers of Justice of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states, held on August 24, in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic.

On August 20-24, 2018 a regular meeting of the Council of National Coordinators of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states was held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.

The Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized a round table in connection with the adoption of the UN General Assembly Resolution “Strengthening regional and international cooperation to ensure peace, stability and sustainable development in the Central Asian region”, in Tashkent.

On July 12, 2018, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdujabar Abduvakhitov took part in consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states on the issues of SCO's international activities.
