Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan attended the Sixth Meeting of Ministers of Justice of the SCO member states

The Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan Ruslanbek Davletov attended the Sixth Meeting of Ministers of Justice of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states, held on August 24, in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic.
The meeting was chaired by the Acting Minister of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic Maksatbek Yesenaliyev.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Law and Justice of the Republic of India S.Chandra, Minister of Justice of Kazakhstan M.Beketayev, Deputy Minister of Justice of the People’s Republic of China Yuan Shuhong, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Kazakhstan Imtiaz Ahmad Kazi, Minister of Justice of Russia A.Konovalov and Minister of Justice of Tajikistan R.Shokhmurod.
The Minister of Justice of Afghanistan Abdul Basir Anwar, Minister of Justice of Belarus O.Slizhevsky, Minister of Justice of Iran S.Avayi, Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs of Mongolia N.Tsend attended the event as observers.
At the meeting, R.Davletov made a report on the ongoing large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at ensuring the rule of law, strengthening the rule of law and protecting citizens’ rights and freedoms within the framework of implementation of the Action Strategy on five priority development areas of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021.
In his report, the Minister of Justice also informed about the radical transformation of the activity of the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan by the recent decree of the President, where the ministry has a special role in implementing state legal policy.
Following the meeting, the Ministers of Justice signed a Joint Statement providing for further development of cooperation between the Ministries of Justice in accordance with the SCO Development Strategy until 2025.
