On June 16, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a videoconference on development of services and domestic tourism.

CBT tourism (Community based tourism) is becoming more and more popular among tourists who want to get acquainted with the traditions and lifestyle of local residents, enjoy the view of nature, feel a different atmosphere of life.

In Uzbekistan the year 2020 was declared the "Year of science, education and digital economy development". But no one guessed at the beginning of the year that this could become so relevant in the current situation.  

Due to widespread of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the world, Pilgrimage Tourism Week in Uzbekistan has been postponed. The event was scheduled for March 12-16, 2020 by the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
