President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visits the pilgrimage places during each of his trips to the regions.

On March 17, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for Samarkand region for becoming familiarized with the progress of socio-economic reforms, construction and landscaping activities, new projects at places, and for conducting dialogue with people.

At the first consultation meeting of the heads of Central Asian states in Astana, the sides discussed issues of expansion of political, trade-economic and humanitarian cooperation between the countries of the region, joint counteraction to terrorism, extremism, illicit traffic in narcotic drugs and weapons, strengthening security and stability in Central Asia.

As it is known, 2018 is declared in Kazakhstan as the Year of Uzbekistan, which clearly demonstrates the respect of people of Kazakhstan to the country and people of Uzbekistan.

On March 15, Astana hosted the first consultation meeting of the heads of states of Central Asia. This was reported by the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As previously reported, on March 15, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, arrived in Astana on a working visit.
