Military recruitment to be simplified

Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a press conference on the essence, significance and implementation of the resolution of the Head of the state “On approval of the Regulations on the procedure for military service by citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan” of September 12, 2019.
Responsible officers and military personnel of the Ministry of Defense provided information about tasks defined in the new version of the regulation.
In order to increase the prestige of military service and combat readiness of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan, many issues related to their staffing from among patriotic youth with great intellectual potential, conditions of admission to military service under a contract, social protection of military personnel and procedure for their dismissal to the reserve are fixed in legal documents.
Taking into account the study of practice of developed foreign countries, problems that have arisen over the years related to the order of military service, as well as accumulated relevant life experience, the situation was updated by 80 percent.
It was noted that the new version of the regulation, along with extraterritorial one, also includes territorial principle of staffing the Armed Forces with military personnel on a contractual basis. This rule in the new regulation will regulate all issues related to the change of service (rotation) of military personnel.
Heads of Tashkent City and Regional Defense Departments provided information about activities carried out at places to implement this document and expressed their views on advantages of the new provision.
