On May 4, 2019, the nineteenth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan continued its work in the city of Tashkent.
The session was attended by members of the government, heads of ministries and agencies, representatives of domestic and foreign media.
The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Nigmatilla Yuldoshev.
Members of the Senate heard a report of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the activities of the prosecution authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2018.
It was noted that the prosecution authorities should give priority to preventing the violations by the state governing bodies and control of the rights of entrepreneurs, unreasonable interference in their activities, assumptions of inertia in solving their problems. Following the discussion, the relevant resolution of the Senate was adopted.
Then members of the upper chamber of the parliament heard reports on the activities of the Accounting Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2018, the khokim of Tashkent region on development of territories and the activities of local Kengashes of people’s deputies.
Senators considered the issue of introducing amendments and additions to the Program for organizing and developing multidisciplinary farms in 2019.
At the plenary session, other issues were also considered concerning the appointment of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Poland, introducing amendments to the composition of the Supreme Court and approval of the resolutions of the Council of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis. Relevant resolutions of the Senate were adopted on the issues discussed.
According to the Information Service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 23 issues, including 8 laws were considered at the nineteenth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis. It was emphasized that the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan approved by senators are aimed at further strengthening the legal foundations of all spheres of society and ensuring the consistent implementation of reforms and transformations, as well as the development of international cooperation.
Thereupon, the nineteenth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan completed its work.
