The results of the first International Exhibition-Fair “Made in Uzbekistan”

The first International Exhibition-Fair “Made in Uzbekistan” was held from November 27 to 30, 2018 in Tashkent on the initiative of the Ministry for Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with JSC NEC “Uzexpocentre”.

The main purpose of the event was to attract the attention of foreign partners and the present the export potential of products manufactured in Uzbekistan.

Exhibition Fair in Numbers

More than 1,000 types of domestic goods were presented in two pavilions, as well as in the open area of JSC NEC “Uzexpocentre” with a total area of 5000 m2. Around 150 companies of Uzbekistan had an opportunity to present their potential to foreign guests. During the four-day event was attended by over 800 representatives of business communities and potential buyers from Central Asia, Afghanistan, Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, China, India, Republic of Korea, Australia and others.

“This very interesting exhibition reflects the dynamics of development of Uzbekistan. I enjoyed most of the scale and transparency: all areas of domestic production are represented, as well as visits to production companies were organized. I would like to mention well-established process for the production at industrial enterprises, which directly leads to having a high quality of the finished product,” - commented the participant from Germany, Peter Rodhe .

Guests of the exhibition had an opportunity to get acquainted with the wide range of high-quality products, as well as sign contracts and agreements on the supply of products from Uzbekistan.

Focus

The exhibition was especially focused on the demonstration of finished products with high added value, in particular, textile, leather and footwear products, electrotechnical industry, food, automobile industries and mechanical engineering, metallurgy, petrochemical and other industries.

Format

The exhibition was held in a new format, within which thematic conferences and round table discussions were organized with presentations by representatives of sectoral departments and foreign trade companies. Moreover, visits to manufacturing enterprises, master classes on national handicraft, runway show were held within the agenda of the event.

Opportunities

The exhibition was an opportunity for the participants to not only showcase their products and to acquaint visitors with the potential and prospects of the development of enterprises, but also to discuss topical issues such as the conditions of access to foreign markets, quality requirements, labelling and packaging for the products sold on the potential markets.

Interaction

The exhibition also became a platform for effective dialogue and discussion of promising trends in the development of foreign trade. In particular, a round table was organized on the benefits and opportunities of e-commerce for business, as well as prospects for its development in Uzbekistan. Representatives of according ministries and agencies took part in presentations for the participants about the role and potential of electronic trading platforms in the sale of products in foreign markets, as well as responded to concretely the issues of private companies.

Demo-tour

In order to present the process of manufacturing, packaging and labelling to potential buyers, demo-tours to the showrooms of local textile and leather and footwear enterprises, confectionaryc plant “Crafers” and plant for the production of electronics “Artel Group” were held within the exhibiton.

Following the exhibition, active participants were awarded with prizes and certificates. Enterprises in the following categories were also announced:

The most innovative booth - “Daiichi” Company;

The most visited stand – “Uzcharmsanoat” Association;

The most informative booth – “Uzbekneftegaz” JSC;

The demonstration of most wide-range products – “Artel Engineering and Management” Ltd.;

For organizational assistance – “Uzbekozikovkatholding” HC, “Uzavtosanoat” JSC, “Uzeltehsanoat” JSC and the Agency for the development of the pharmaceutical industry.

Within the exhibition, a catalogue of export oriented products of Uzbekistan was published, which represents proposals for goods and services in all sectors of the economy. The catalogue is also available in electronic form on the official website of the Ministry for Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
