On May 7-8 this year, in the village of Solim Padang, Boysun district, an open folklore festival “Boysun bahori” will be held, during which centuries-old folk values  and traditions are sung.

According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to organize and hold the international folklore festival “Boysun bahori” dated February 7 this year, more than 200 representatives of folklore groups operating in the country will take part in the traditional holiday with costumes and old melodies.

As part of the holiday, competitions in national wrestling, ethnosport, cycling marathons, goat-kupkari, leaf throwing, tug of war, chilaku and other folk sports are planned.

Currently, the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Surkhandarya regional khokimiyat and other partner organizations are actively preparing for the high-level folklore festival.

At the end of the festival, the best folklore and ethnographic teams, winners of sports and folk games will be awarded.

For information: the charming Baysun, which is loved by people all over the world, was recognized by UNESCO as a masterpiece of the "Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity" and in 2008 included in the UNESCO Representative List of "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity".
