On March 1, 2017, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for Political Affairs Miroslav Jenča.

As has been mentioned during the talks, Uzbekistan, having joined to the UN on March 2, 1992 as a real actor of the international relations, makes worthy contributions to raise the authority and strengthen potentials of the UN, and also to realize goals and tasks, which are defined in the Charter.

The parties discussed the state and perspectives of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN, and exchanged views on actual international and regional matters.

The Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Petko Draganov attended the meeting.
