2017-02-21 | Education

A literary-artistic evening entitled “Creative workers are human soul engineers” has been conducted at children’s school of music and art No 9 in Bulunghur District of Samarqand Region.

During the event, well-known writers A.Suyun. A.Kochimov. S.Onar, literary scholar Q.Yoldoshev and others spoke about the significance of the Presidential decree dated 12 January 2017 “On establishing a commission for the popularization of reading and the raising of book-reading culture and for the development of the system of the publication and distribution of books” and about books’ role in bringing up the younger generation.

In Bulunghur District, there are 67 school libraries and 5 information resource centres functioning at public education institutions. They have 9 thousand 300 books and more than 3 thousand electronic book collections. Now the necessary measures are being taken to increase the number of books at those libraries and to improve their work. Various contests and literary evenings are being conducted among students for the purpose of popularizing book-reading widely.

These creative workers spoke about the importance of books in their lives and work and about the formation of book-reading culture in families. They gave detailed answers to questions from teachers and students about today’s literary evening and about books being created.

Participants in the event approved of an initiative from the department for methodological and organization support for public education institutions on carrying out its “Three books for every offspring” project in the district in March this year. In accordance with this project, parents are to give three books to each of their children.
