Gratitude from voters of the older generation
2016-12-04 | Elections
The electoral system created in our country serves for the complete realization of all its citizens’ political rights. This can be seen in the fact that our people are actively voting in the presidential elections.
At the republican care home for veterans of war and labour, polling station No 222 was formed. Here every voter is freely voting for the people’s wellbeing, peace and calm in the country and our Motherland’s great future.
“In the past, people were not much interested in elections. After our country obtained independence, people understood what a real election is. I am very glad that in today’s presidential elections I used my constitutional right and voted for the worthiest candidate,” says 67 year-old Nemat Bobojonov.
“It is enshrined in our main law that the rights of lone elders are protected by the state. This great care and attention ensure their active participation in the socio-political and socio-economic life of our country. 122 lone elderly people living in our care home familiarized themselves with booklets and laws on elections. The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Mahalla public charity foundation and the Nuroniy foundation arranged round-table conversations and seminars,” says the director of the republican care home for veterans of war and labour and chairman of precinct electoral commission No 222, Tursunmurod Eshiyev.
“Our state provides special care to representatives of the older generation, people with disabilities and those with limited abilities. Using my right and thanks to a ballot paper in the Braille script, I voted independently for the first time in my life and I voted for the candidate who will serve our country and people selflessly and honestly,” says Ertoy Ababoyev.
