In the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis (parliament), a round-table conversation has taken place in cooperation with the Defence and Security Issues Committee and the Tashkent Medical Academy on the subject of “Raising the legal culture is an important factor in expanding young people’s horizons and extending their knowledge”.

The round-table conversation was attended by deputies of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, professors, teachers and students of the Tashkent Medical Academy. 

The chairman of the Defence and Security Issues Committee of the parliament’s lower chamber, R.Komilov, and others have said that work carried out under the leadership of the country’s First President, Islam Karimov, on building a democratic state and a fair civil society, safeguarding peace and calm and giving young people education that conforms to world standards is giving its good results. 

Bringing up a healthy generation that is well in every respect, raising their intellectual potential and protecting their rights and interests are priority areas of the state’s policy. More than twenty laws on protecting young people’s rights and legitimate interests have been adopted, and more than 30 international documents have been ratified. 

The law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On state youth policy” signed by Acting President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 14 September this year is an important legal basis for further expanding the scale of work in this area. 

It was especially noted during the event that the raising of young people’s political and legal culture was of important significance to the country’s comprehensive development and that one of the important tasks before deputies was to further increase young people’s activeness in the process of implementation of democratic reforms in the country’s society and their legal knowledge. 

The essence and significance of laws directed towards ensuring young people’s rights and interests were explained, and there was a speech on young people’s responsibility in this area. Answers were given to questions that were of interest to young students.
