A meeting was held with representatives of the World Bank

On September 5 of this year, at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov held a meeting with representatives of the World Bank delegation headed by the World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia Tatiana Proskuryakova.

The meeting was attended by First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilkhom Norkulov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Jasur Karshibaev, Director of the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under the Cabinet of Ministers Umid Abidkhadjaev, as well as from the guests side, World Bank Operations Manager Indu John-Abraham, Acting Head of the World Bank Representative Office in Uzbekistan Rahimjon Assangaziev, Regional Director on Sustainable Development in Europe and Central Asia Sameh Naguib Wahba, a Senior Urban Specialist at the World Bank Mohamed Nada, a Senior Urban Specialist at the World Bank Rosanna Nitti, a senior economist at the World Bank Pinar Yashar.

At the beginning of the conversation, the parties discussed economic and social issues implemented in the country, as well as promising projects of the World Bank, as well as the development of DPO-6.

DPO (Development Policy Operation) is a low-interest concessional loan provided by the World Bank to support the implementation of important economic and social reforms that accelerate the country's transition to an inclusive and competitive market economy.

In addition, the issue of developing urbanization and land reform programs, as well as improving existing ones, was considered. An exchange of views was held on the elimination of problems in areas with shortage of water, as well as on the repair of channels through which water seeps underground.

At the end of the meeting, officials of the Ministry and the World Bank comprehensively reviewed the above-mentioned projects and agreed on cooperation in their implementation.
