Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic: the first meeting of the working group

As part of the visit of the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic - Head of the Presidential Administration Akilbek Japarov to Uzbekistan, the first meeting of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz working group on cooperation in the field of agriculture was held.
In recent years, at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, relations between the countries of Central Asia, including relations between Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic, have risen to a completely new level. A number of issues that determine the further development of effective cooperation, especially in the field of agriculture, were resolved, and a completely new stage of cooperation began.
In addition, important issues regarding the border of the two countries were resolved. This aspect is also related to the development of the fishing industry. A Memorandum was signed between the Research Institute of Fisheries under the State Committee for Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Development under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and the Department of Fisheries under the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.
When the highest quality of agricultural products is achieved with the ECO brand, the topic of organic farming becomes more and more important in the development of the agrosphere. It is no coincidence that at the first meeting of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz working group on cooperation in the field of agriculture, a Memorandum was signed between the specialized research institute for quarantine and plant protection and the Department of Organic Farming under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Also, a Memorandum on the implementation of joint projects in horticulture and fruit growing was signed between the two ministries. In addition, thanks to the successful work of the joint intergovernmental commission, the provision of seeds and seedlings has already begun.
It is known that the climatic conditions of the Kyrgyz Republic are favorable for growing potatoes. In recent years, cooperation has been established in three areas with a neighboring country through the establishment of close bilateral cooperation, where products are grown and then delivered directly to Uzbekistan. In addition, the mechanisms for creating an agrologistic center for processing and selling livestock products have been fully developed. Here the whole process is carried out from breeding livestock to processing and production of meat.
Also, on the basis of bilateral agreements, in order to increase the production of agricultural products and its even greater exports, areas have been allocated for intensive gardens and greenhouses in a number of regions of the Kyrgyz Republic.
At the initial stage, it is planned to implement projects worth more than $50 million.
