On March 25, Tashkent hosted the thirty-seventh meeting of the Council of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

It was attended by representatives of India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Executive Committee of the RATS SCO.

The parties considered the state of regional security, discussed the current situation in countering terrorism, separatism and extremism in the SCO space. The participants exchanged views on the level of interaction between the competent authorities of the SCO member states, identified joint measures to respond to modern challenges and security threats from international terrorist organizations.

At the meeting, information on the implementation of the decisions of the RATS SCO Council in 2021 was considered. A positive assessment was given to the activities of the Executive Committee of the RATS SCO for the past period.

The proposals of the Indian side to hold in 2022 on the territory of a joint anti-terrorist exercise of the competent authorities of the SCO member states “Manesar – Antiterror 2022”, as well as the Kazakh side on a joint border operation of the competent authorities of the SCO member states “Friendship Border – 2022” were supported.

Decisions were made to hold the Eighth Meeting of the Heads of Border Services of the Competent Authorities of the SCO Member States and the Eighth International Scientific and Practical Conference of the SCO RATS.

Several employees of the competent authorities of the SCO member states and officials of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS were awarded the Certificate of the Council and the SCO RATS Commemorative Badge for their contribution to the development of the SCO RATS activities and strengthening of interaction between the competent authorities of the SCO RATS member states.

An agreement was reached to hold the next meeting of the SCO RATS Council on October 14, 2022, in New Delhi, the Republic of India.

The meeting of the Council was held in a businesslike and friendly atmosphere.
