Priority tasks for enhancing investment and foreign trade activities in Uzbekistan were discussed

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan S.Umurzakov held a videoconference meeting on investment and foreign trade activities with the participation of heads of local authorities in charge of investment and foreign trade.
During the meeting implementation status of regional investment programs was considered, existing issues were studied and relevant instructions for their solution were given. The need to intensify work on stimulation of attraction of investments in priority sectors, provision of effective support to initiators of investment projects, support of industrial enterprises and addressing issues related to their effective functioning to ensure full utilization of production capacity was noted.
Also, progress on formation of regional investment programs for 2022 was discussed. Instructions were given on the qualitative development and selection of investment proposals, taking into account their manufacturability, profitability, economic effect, as well as demand for the manufactured products on the domestic as well as foreign markets.
The importance of direct interaction with producers and exporters was emphasized to promptly identify and solve problems that arise in export deliveries, as well as to identify new reserves for increasing export potential.
Additional instructions were given to accelerate the introduction of a new system for stimulating investment and export activities, identifying idle economic resources in the regions, organizing the activity of project groups, creating holding companies, as well as subsequent monitoring of the activities of enterprises and industrial facilities that have been put into operation.
The executives at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade and its regional offices reported on the interim results of the work in the above areas.
As a result of the meeting, the responsible executives were given additional instructions for the quality and timely implementation of the tasks.
