Training on the protection of women's rights and opportunities was held in Uzbekistan

Commission on Gender Equality of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the ACTED project "Strengthening the role of civil society to protect and empower women in Uzbekistan"
According to the upper house of parliament, the training was devoted to gender equality, discussion of international legislation on gender issues and reforms aimed at raising public awareness of Uzbekistan's international obligations in the field of human rights and gender equality, strengthening gender equality and human rights in the country.
Participants also discussed issues related to women's rights, discrimination and inequality, international legal and regulatory documents on human rights and gender equality, and gender mainstreaming sessions. It was noted at the training that Uzbekistan officially makes its contribution to ensuring gender equality and protecting the rights of women.
In particular, it joined the Beijing Platform and the Beijing Action Plan by signing the 1995 Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). The Constitution of the Republic enshrines the principles of non-discrimination and equality of men and women.
