Khorezm region development in the context of mahallas under discussion

2020-12-13 | Politics

A President-chaired meeting is in progress in Urgench with activists and officials of the Khorezm region as well as central executives of spheres.

Commencing the session, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the Khorezm dehkans and farmers, all our hardworking people again on the Agricultural Workers’ Day celebrated today.

“This is our second trip to Khorezm this year. The goal is to meet face to face, discuss topical issues in the field, talk about what other opportunities are there, what assistance is needed, what the end result is expected. It is impossible to develop the economy with high-flown words. If we understand the problems as they are, then the decisions will be correct and fair,” the President said.

The head of our state noted that a new system of solving social problems will be introduced on the basis of the principle “Mahalla chair as reformer”.

“One visit of the President once a year will not secure desired results. Each hokim, head of the economic complex must systematically work on the problems of the region. No one will come from outside and do it for us. Yesterday I talked with hokims of Khorezm towns and districts. No matter how much funds they asked for, I gave. Not because we have a lot of money, but because they were able to put priorities correctly. People should not be indifferent either. Local kengashes, mahallas should demand from executives,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev insisted.

The state of socio-economic development in the region is critically reviewed at the meeting underway. Tasks for the development of agriculture, production and services, job creation, poverty reduction and improvement of social conditions in mahallas are being determined.
