On December 10 of this year, as a logical continuation of the measures taken to further increase the level of socio-economic and political-legal development of the country and work with international ratings and indices, as well as to further strengthen international cooperation, the Ministry of Finance in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice held the II International Forum "The importance of international rankings and indices for the ongoing reforms in the Republic of Uzbekistan".

The forum was organized online on the Zoom platform.

The International Forum was attended by about 300 participants, including the United Nations, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the World Health Organization, the World Bank, the US-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce, the International Finance Corporation, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Exit Bank, Representatives of JP Morgan, JICA, Fitch Ratings, S&P Global Ratings, White & Case, USAID, German Economic Team and more than 40 foreign governments, international financial institutions, rating agencies, international investment banks, foreign ambassadors to Uzbekistan, Belarus, Officials from the People's Republic of India and the People's Republic of China, ministries and departments of the republic, research organizations, commercial banks, insurance companies, the private sector and non-governmental organizations.

According to the program, the Forum was divided into two parts. The first part was held in the form of a plenary session. The introductory speech and the conference were opened by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chairman of the Republican Council for International Ratings and Indices, Tanzila Narbaeva. The moderator of the session, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Odilbek Isakov, announced the agenda of the plenary session for the Forum participants.

During the session, Akmal Saidov, First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Commission on International Ratings and Indices, Professor of the Paris Institute for Political Studies Sergei Guriyev (France), Director of the Federal Center for Competition and Statistics Hanan Ahli (UAE), Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ruslanbek Davletov, UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan Helena Frey, Communication Center Executive Director, Vusal Gasimli (Azerbaijan) Whiteshield Partners Director Prof. Pavel Wojciechowski (Poland) participated.

The second part of the forum consisted of sections describing economic, social, political and legal reforms in international rankings. In these sections, the presentations and challenges of the heads and experts of relevant government agencies, as well as foreign, local and independent experts in the field were discussed.

The following issues were discussed at the Forum:

- further improvement of the indicators of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the stable international rankings and indices, exchange of experience with international and local experts on the elimination of existing shortcomings and obtaining relevant recommendations;

- Development of knowledge and skills of officials of ministries and departments on international ratings and indices;

- to acquaint the participants with the reforms implemented in the republic in recent years and to update the information about the republic in the database.

The event was attended by representatives of international organizations, foreign and local experts, government and non-governmental organizations.

Within the framework of the forum, a presentation of the single portal "The Republic of Uzbekistan in international rankings" developed by the Ministry of Finance was held.
