Uzbekistan Government Delegation takes part in the celebration of the Uzbek Language Day in Afghanistan
Government delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov, within the framework of a visit to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, has taken part in the celebration of the Uzbek Language Day, in Kabul.
The event was attended by the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani, as well as the country’s top leadership.
According to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, at the event, on behalf of the Government of Uzbekistan, deep gratitude was expressed to the friendly Government and people of Afghanistan for the great attention to the preservation of the cultural heritage of the common ancestors of the peoples of the two countries, who made a great contribution to the development of world civilization.
A congratulatory message from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was read.
President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani and representatives of the Afghan public delivered speeches.
It should be noted that October 21 in Afghanistan is declared an official holiday – the Uzbek Language Day. The Uzbek language, being included in the Constitution of Afghanistan as one of the official languages of the country, is widely spoken in 10 provinces of Afghanistan and is gaining popularity from year to year. Several television and dozens of radio channels in Afghanistan are broadcast in the Uzbek language.
