Uzbekistan Deputy Prime Minister holds a phone call with the Chief Executive Officer of DFC
A phone conversation has taken place between Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Adam Boehler.
According to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, during the conversation, the sides discussed current issues of cooperation in the context of strengthening bilateral ties between Uzbekistan and the United States. The practical aspects of the implementation of joint projects in transport and logistics sector were considered.
Issues related to the creation of a joint Investment Fund in Uzbekistan and proposals for organizing its effective activities were discussed.
The American side reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the agreements reached to promote and support socio-economic reforms in Uzbekistan, including through co-financing of priority infrastructure projects and initiatives aimed at developing the private sector.
The interest in consistent and effective cooperation aimed at socio-economic and infrastructural development of Central Asia, increasing the interconnection of the countries of the region and Afghanistan was also emphasized.
Following the conversation, the parties agreed to continue a close dialogue aimed at the earliest possible implementation of the agreed activities and projects.
