The Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade hosted a meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and the Chairman of the Planning and Budget Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Lütfi Elvan.
At the meeting, which was also attended by representatives of Turkish business, the priority areas of interaction were considered within the framework of implementation of a number of investment projects with participation of Turkish and Uzbek companies and attraction of new potential investors in agriculture, textile, leather and footwear and automotive industry, production of building materials.
Further steps were outlined for interaction in the issue of attracting Turkish expert consultants to improve the management system and implement structural reforms in priority sectors: agriculture, electricity, construction and the textile industry.
Special attention was paid to cooperation within the framework of digitalization of public administration using the Turkish experience in implementation of the e-government system. An agreement was reached on creation of a joint working group consisting of the heads of relevant agencies and ministries of the two countries to work out practical issues for the implementation of this initiative.
Specific mechanisms were developed to strengthen intergovernmental cooperation in labor migration by enhancing the interaction of specialized state structures of the two countries.
Following the meeting, a plan of practical actions was drawn up to promote joint initiatives in the indicated directions.
