In recent years, as a result of reforms in the field of higher education, the confidence of young people and parents in this system has increased. The procedures for submitting documents for entry are completely transferred to a remote, online form, creating thus a great deal of convenience for the applicants.

The coronavirus pandemic has disrupted, among other things, the established procedure for admission to universities. Therefore, today it is necessary to decide when, where and in what order the entrance tests will be conducted and how the educational process will be organized in the upcoming 2020/2021 academic year.

In this regard, a working meeting was held an online conference on August 7, 2020 in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan to discuss the issues of holding entrance exams to the Tashkent branch of the TOBB ETU University.

It should be noted that during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkey, on February 19, Ankara hosted the first meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish Council for Strategic Cooperation of the highest level, as a result of which the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey signed Memorandum on the opening in Tashkent of a branch of TOBB University of Economics and Technology.

On June 17, 2020, the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 389 on the opening of a branch of the TOBB University of Economics and Technology in Tashkent was adopted.

The meeting was attended by the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent State Economic University, as well as from the Turkish side: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Secretary General of the ECO CCI Adem Kula, Rector of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of TOBB University of Economics and Technology Guven Sak and other responsible people.

They discussed the organization and conduct of entrance examinations, as well as the timing of their conduct.

The entrance exams are planned for the period from August 25 to September 1. The exams will be in two subjects: mathematics and English. At the first part of the day there will be exams in mathematics, at the second part in English.

In particular, it was noted that test trials should be carried out in places that ensure the epidemiological safety of applicants and observers.

Given the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic and for the convenience of applicants, during the meeting, an agreement was reached to extend the deadline for submission of documents until August 20, 2020.

It’s worth noting that students have a unique opportunity to travel to Turkey. In the third trimester, they will get acquainted with the activities of leading Turkish companies and well-known entrepreneurs, and will also undertake internships in large enterprises in the field of the electrical industry, in the textile and fruit and vegetable clusters in Turkey.
