On July 28, 2020, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the Head of the EU delegation to Uzbekistan, Ambassador Eduards Stiprais on the occasion of the completion of his mission to Uzbekistan, MFA reports.
The parties exchanged views on the state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and EU in political, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
The parties considered the schedule of the upcoming joint events, including the issue of holding EU – Central Asia MFA conference in Tashkent to strengthen interconnectedness and sustainable development of Central Asian region.
The key importance of trade-economic and investment cooperation, the EU's participation in implementation of investment projects and programs aimed at solving practical problems to strengthen cooperation in digitalization of economy, science and culture, as well as in education was emphasized.
The need for further increasing the volume of trade turnover, which by the end of 2019 amounted to $4 billion, was noted.
Following the meeting, the Minister expressed gratitude to the Head of the EU delegation for fruitful work and significant contribution to strengthening friendly relations between Uzbekistan and European Union.
