On July 7, 2020, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov held talks with the Director General for Bilateral Affairs at Belgian Federal Public Service for Foreign Affairs, Anick Van Calster, via videoconference, Uzbekistan MFA reports.
The state and prospects of multifaceted and mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belgium in political, trade-economic, investment, transport-communication, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres were discussed during the conversation.
The sides noted the need for intensifying political dialogue by organizing mutual visits at various levels. In this context, the Uzbek side expressed its readiness to hold the seventh round of political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries in Tashkent as the epidemiological situation improves.
The importance of paying special attention to trade-economic and investment cooperation was emphasized, assistance mechanisms for increasing the volume of bilateral trade were considered.
