Minister of Finance: 25 foreign independent observers to start working in state banks
At the meeting chaired by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on discussing the implementation of the banking system reform strategy, issues related to this area were discussed.
The Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Timur Ishmetov expressed his opinion on the issues and innovations raised at this meeting that are expected in the future in the system of state banks.
Timur Ishmetov noted that to date, 14 independent foreign directors have been involved in the supervisory boards of state banks. Negotiations are ongoing with 11 more specialists.
In the coming days, 25 foreign independent observers will start working in state-owned banks. By the end of the year, the share of foreign independent experts of supervisory boards in state-owned banks will be increased to 30 percent.
