International Videoconference on COVID-19

On July 1, 2020, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov attended the International Videoconference “Close the Digital Divides: The Digital Response to COVID-19”.
The event was attended by high-ranking representatives of foreign ministries from more than 40 countries, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group, Amina Mohammed, Director of Telecommunication Development Bureau at International Telecommunication Union, Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Director General of Smart Africa Alliance, Lacina Koné.
Participants exchanged views on preventing economic and social consequences of coronavirus infection, discussed ways to use innovative digital solutions to jointly build a strong society that can withstand severe social, economic and political disasters.
Global Declaration on the Digital Response to COVID-19 was adopted following the event.
