Passenger transportation has also been stopped.
Movement of international and local passenger trains have been stopped in Uzbekistan in order to counteract the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Uzbekistan Railways, international passenger trains ran until March 22. 2257 citizens who arrived on passenger trains were taken to quarantine zones in different regions of the country.
11,512 citizens who completed the 14-day quarantine period on March 16 went home on 46 special disinfected passenger trains.
Additional passenger trains have been organized to transport working groups consisting of employees of relevant ministries and agencies who study people’s life during the quarantine period and resolve issues arising on the spot. In particular, passenger trains are running in Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, Andijan, Fergana, Namangan, Syrdarya, Jizzakh and Samarkand regions, as well as in Muynak.
Transportation of railway transport workers and contractors involved in construction of a hospital in Tashkent region and Tashkent Metro is carried out.
Special trains continue to transport citizens who have completed the 14-day quarantine period.
Serious attention is paid to compliance with hygiene requirements and quarantine rules. Employees are allocated service vehicles to arrive at work.
Administrative buildings, Afrosiyob trains and all other passenger trains, as well as service vehicles, are regularly disinfected in the appropriate order.
