Development Strategy Center hosted a roundtable discussion on “Mechanisms for implementing public policy on supporting and stimulating volunteer activities: international and national experience”. It was organized by Civil Society Development Center.
The event was attended by the heads of ministries, agencies, non-governmental non-profit organizations.
The draft State Target Program for 2020-2021 in volunteering, developed as part of implementation of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On volunteer activities”, approved by the President of the country in December 2019, was discussed.
The Law “On volunteer activities” notes the need for introduction of voluntary activities in the country on a legal basis.
“A working group has been created to develop this project”, said Director of Civil Society Development Center Rustam Komilov.
The project consists of 24 paragraphs. According to the sixth paragraph of this project, in September this year it is planned to create Volunteers Association. It is also expected to hold the Second Republican Forum of Volunteers, and translate the Universal Declaration on Volunteering into Uzbek.
