WHO Regional Director for Europe, Dr Hans Kluge, held a briefing at the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.
It was noted that a joint pilot project on new models of medical services was launched in Syrdarya region with the support of WHO experts. The project is already yielding good results and the state plans to gradually extend it to the whole country.
Detailed information was given about cooperation between this organization and Uzbekistan. Dr Hans Kluge gave a high assessment to reforms carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He noted that WHO, including its Regional Office for Europe will fully support projects implemented in healthcare sector.
Cooperation Agreement has been signed between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and WHO Regional Office for Europe for 2020-2021. This document is a practical basis for cooperation and was developed through successive consultations.
Members of the delegation led by WHO Regional Director for Europe, Dr Hans Kluge, plan to get acquainted with activities of a number of medical institutions and specialized scientific-practical medical centers during their visit to Uzbekistan.
