WHO Regional Director for Europe to visit Uzbekistan

WHO Regional Director for Europe, Dr Hans Kluge, who took office on February 1, 2020, begins his first official visit abroad to Uzbekistan today.

According to the Ministry of Health, during the visit, it is planned to sign a two-year Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the WHO Regional Office for Europe for 2020-2021. The guest will also visit several medical institutions and specialized scientific and practical medical centers.

Last May, Geneva hosted the 72nd World Health Assembly and the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Alisher Shadmanov was elected Vice-President of the World Health Organization for Europe.
