On January 31, 2020, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Nematov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India Santosh Jha, Uzbekistan MFA reports.
The sides discussed the state and prospects of increasing Uzbekistan – India cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment and other spheres.
It was emphasized that regular dialogue at the highest level allowed strengthening Uzbekistan – India strategic partnership and giving a dynamic and comprehensive character to bilateral relations.
It was noted that cooperation in the economic sphere is a key priority in mutually beneficial relations. In this context, the parties exchanged views on dates of holding meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission on trade-economic cooperation, joint committee for coordination and promotion of practical implementation of bilateral projects, as well as considered specific proposals for the upcoming bilateral agreements aimed at encouraging investment and increasing commodity turnover between the two countries.
The parties focused on the schedule and agenda of the upcoming contacts at the highest levels.
