Meeting at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany
On January 29, 2020, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Federal Chancellor's Representative for the German-Greek Assembly of Germany, Norbert Barthle, in Berlin.
During the talks, the parties discussed issues of cooperation on implementation of previously reached agreements aimed at further development of bilateral financial and technical cooperation.
Norbert Barthle emphasized that in Germany they are watching the ongoing reforms in various spheres of life in Uzbekistan with great interest and recognize the practical results of reforms.
An important indicator of the support by the German Government of the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan is an increase in the volume of financial and technical assistance provided to the country over the past three years to more than 11 times, which reached 143.8 million euros. Within the framework of these funds, projects in professional education, digitalization of healthcare, improvement of medical services for the population of the Aral Sea region and others will be implemented in the country.
