The conference, organized by the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan under the auspices of the UN Development Programme, was attended by representatives of ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan, the European Union, the Asian Development Bank and other international organizations, and foreign experts.

First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Laziz Kudratov, UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan Matilda Dimovska and others noted that it is important to implement individual strategies of Central Asian countries in close cooperation, while strengthening trade-economic and investment ties. It was noted that the implementation of such good goals as strengthening social protection, ensuring youth employment, introducing a green economy, achieving gender equality, is fully consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Within the framework of the event, the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, in particular projects being implemented to liberalize the economy, stimulate entrepreneurship, create a favorable business and investment environment, and support young people, were discussed.

Views were exchanges on a number of important issues, such as promising areas for sustainable development of Central Asian countries, a detailed analysis of the existing threats, expansion of production capabilities, norms for establishing a regional agricultural business, and simplification of mutual trade.

Reports of international experts were heard on customs, trade and market data, the cluster of sustainable development, economic research and regional cooperation, and agricultural development.

Following the event, an agreement was reached on comprehensive development of cooperation for increasing the production potential of Central Asia, expanding investment ties, and implementation of this process in the context of global economic progress.
