In the period from October 28 to October 29, 2019, the 16th session of the Joint target group for environmental statistics and indicators took place in Geneva (Switzerland).

The head specialist of the Department of Agricultural and Ecology Statistics - Dekhkanova N.T. took part in this session from the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on statistics.

The representatives of statistical services and organizations on environmental protection of Eastern and Southeast European countries, the Caucasus and Central Asia, experts of the European Environmental Agency (EEA), the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) took part at the 16th session.

The session was aimed at defining the specific needs in the field of capacity strengthening, related to environmental statistics, indicators of the Common Environmental Information System and Sustainable Development Goals, studying the experience of EECCA countries on using the ecological indicators, as well as considering the matters of capacity strengthening in the field of sustainable development and the green economy.
