Projects are being implemented to provide access to students to high-quality education in each school through the introduction of information technology

2019-11-04 | Education

The Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan plans to implement e-Education projects in schools in Uzbekistan, which are directed to provide access to students to high-quality education in each school in the country.

Given that there are very large differences between the quality of education in schools, as well as the lack of highly qualified teachers in many schools, it is necessary to introduce information technologies that will help provide access to high-quality teaching materials in every school in the country.

In this regard, within the framework of the visit of the Chinese delegation led by the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang to Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Public Education signed agreements with Chinese companies ZTE and Huawei on the implementation of the projects “Introduction of modern information and communication technologies in the field of public education”.

Under the agreements, Chinese companies, at their own expense, carry out pilot projects to introduce modern information and communication technologies in the field of public education on the basis of several schools in Uzbekistan, based on which the effectiveness of the introduced technologies will be evaluated to improve the quality of education and the school management system.

Upon receiving positive results from the pilot projects, the parties will explore the possibilities of phased implementation of the solutions of Chinese companies in all schools of Uzbekistan with the attraction of preferential financial resources from China.

Within the framework of pilot projects, the parties plan to cooperate in equipping computer classes, creating a video surveillance system and infrastructure for a data transmission network, etc. One of the project priorities will be the creation of a class monitoring system. The system will not only allow to create a security system in schools, but also monitor the work of teachers in classes and student attendance. Special attention will be paid to the uninterrupted operation of the systems being created.

It is also expected that specialists from Uzbekistan will study China’s best practices in introducing modern information and communication technologies in school education.
