The role of small businesses and private entrepreneurship in the economy

In order to ensure the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 9, 2019 “On additional measures to ensure openness and transparency of public administration, as well as improving the statistical potential of the country” on October 29, 2019 at 15:00 at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications of the Presidential Administration The Republic of Uzbekistan by the State Committee on Statistics held a press conference on the theme "The role of small businesses and private entrepreneurship in the country's economy."

The event was attended by the leadership of the central office of the State Committee on Statistics, the Statistics Directorates of the city of Tashkent and the Tashkent region, the Institute for Retraining and Statistical Research and the media.

The press conference emphasized that in our country much attention is paid to the development of small business and private entrepreneurship.

At the conference, information was presented on how statistics are formed indicators of small businesses and private entrepreneurship. The formation of indicators of small businesses and private entrepreneurship for the year and quarter decreased on the basis of various presentations.

At the event, it was noted that as of October 1, 2019, the number of operating business entities (without dekhan farms and farms) having the status of a legal entity amounted to 325,312. Of these, the number of small enterprises and micro-firms is 323,014 units or 99.3% of total number.

At a press conference, industry experts noted that in January-September 2019, 72.4 thousand new small enterprises and micro-firms were created (without farms and dekhkan farms), which is 1.9 times more than in the same period last year. It was noted that the largest number of small enterprises and micro-firms were created in trade (38.6%), industry (21.8%), construction (10.0%), agriculture, forestry and fisheries (7.5%), living and food (7.5%), transportation and storage (3.3%).

At the end of the press conference, the staff of the State Committee on Statistics answered in detail questions of interest to journalists.
