Delegation of the Republic of Korea led by Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, Kim Yong-rae and Chairman of the Korea Importers Association, Hong Kwang-hee visits Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of the visit, Uzbekistan – Korea business forum and a cooperation exchange were held in Tashkent on September 25. Issues of further improving the export of domestic products to South Korea were discussed at the event.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, domestic companies, as well as authorized representatives of more than 10 leading Korean companies involved in construction, healthcare, and tourism.
Capabilities of the electronic database of Korea Importers Association were demonstrated, the presentation of export rules to Korea was held. Korean participants were provided with information about the investment and export potential of Uzbekistan.
Following the event, an agreement was reached between the parties on creation of an electronic trading platform. Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and Korea Importers Association.
Delegation members attended Uzbekistan – Korea forum on digital health.
At the forum sessions, Korea’s experience in digital medicine, joint activities planned for implementation in this direction were discussed.
An e-health action plan has been approved between Uzbekistan and Korea.
On the same day, a meeting of the working group on implementation of the agreements reached following the visit of the President of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan in April this year was held.
Possibilities of mutual encouragement and protection of investments, the implementation of the cooperation program with Korea’s financial institutions, the creation of a branch of the Incheon Free Economic Zone in Angren Free Economic Zone, projects on creating a free trading platform, prospects for cooperation in healthcare, pharmaceuticals and digital medicine were considered at the meeting.
