First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sodik Safoyev met with a delegation of the House of Representatives of Japan.
At the meeting, the delegation members were informed about large-scale reforms implemented in Uzbekistan under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Thanks to Japan's financial and technical assistance, Uzbekistan has implemented a number of socially significant and infrastructure projects in healthcare, education, energy, transport, telecommunications and other areas.
Views were also exchanged on prospects for development of bilateral cooperation, including deepening of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan, as well as on regional and international issues.
It was noted that bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan is characterized by high dynamics in all aspects of international and regional agenda.
Following the meeting, the sides expressed readiness to continue to make every effort to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
