On August 31, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan, Yoshinori Fujiyama.
Accepting the copies of credentials, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to a high and responsible post and wished him fruitful work.
High level of trust and mutual understanding between the two countries, the coincidence of views and similar approaches to the current agenda of cooperation, as well as international and regional issues, were emphasized at the meeting.
The parties noted the huge potential for development of trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as mutual interest in enhancing interaction in this area.
Special attention was paid to practical aspects of preparing for the upcoming visits at the highest level. Confidence was expressed that the planned meetings will serve to intensify Uzbekistan – Japan dialogue and give impetus to the whole range of bilateral relations.
