On August 27 of the current year, the meeting with an expert on sustainable development of the Department of environment and development of ESCAP on issues of cooperation and technical assistance took place in the State committee on statistics.

The Deputy Chairman of the State committee on statistics - Makhmudjon Ziyadullayev led the meeting and  presented a detailed report on the course of implementing measures for  achieving the national SDGs. 

The progress of Uzbekistan in achieving the SDGs, the national structure for implementing and monitoring the SDGs, the role of the State committee on statistics in preparing for the process of voluntary national review were discussed at the meeting. The parties defined potential, resources and gaps for preparing for the process of voluntary national review.

The expert on sustainable development of ESCAP highly appreciated the efforts of Uzbekistan for  achieving the national sustainable development goals, thanked the senior executives of  the State committee on statistics for having organized the meeting and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.

The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
