Trainings for water resources management specialists

As previously reported, within the framework of the European Union Program “Sustainable management of water resources in rural areas in Uzbekistan” UNDP and CAREC organized an event in Termez for representatives of water-environmental NGOs, the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources and mass media.
Participants of the event attended trainings for water resources management specialists, reclamation, pumping stations, reservoirs and large hydraulic structures organized within the framework of Component 2 “Technical capacity building” (UNDP).
One of the trainings was devoted to land reclamation. It was attended by employees and workers of land reclamation expeditions, which are under the basin management of irrigation systems of Surkhandarya region.
To date, about 3 thousand people have been trained and re-trained in different areas of water management. After the trainings, experts will observe participants’ activities, whether they apply the knowledge in practice.
